Ad Astra Theatre Troupe is a non-profit student-run performance company focusing on spreading education, confidence, and a sense of community through the arts. We're unique because of our aim to enable local high-school students through all forms of theatrical development, with new opportunities in direction, production, choreography, technical direction, publicity, play writing, and stage management, with little to no cost to families. We are devoted to making theatre affordable and accessible to young artists of all walks of life.

WHAT IS A DIGITAL WORK?
Any ORIGIANAL WORK that you can film that is UNDER 25 MINUTES! Including:
ORIGINAL VIRTUAL SHORT PLAY (be it over zoom or otherwise)
Short play readings
Short play performances
You may also:
submit an original work as a writer
submit as a director with an original work in mind but incomplete cast
submit as an actor who wishes to act in a virtual play
Animated short films
We will accept your submission as long as it is art that can be filmed, such as:
Performance of spoken word/slam poetry
Live musical performance
WHAT'S THE TIMELINE?
Please submit the PARTICIPATION FORM below by November 1, the WORK itself must be submitted by NOVEMBER 25, and the FESTIVAL will begin DECEMBER 5, 2020. More information on details regarding the festival will be released in the coming months!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We are looking for submissions from STUDENTS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES! We are here to support and showcase your work as young artists.
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS?
We want to see your creativity! There are NO GENRE or FORMAT restrictions, but be conscientious that we wish to show this to a wide audience. We ask that your work refrains from showing nudity and illegal substances, and instead simulates or implies. If necessary, we may add a CONTENT WARNING to your work. We also ask that you make sure you are not in breach of any copyright laws (showing trademarked brands, using copyrighted music, etc.). If you are unsure please email us before submitting!
IS THERE A WAY I CAN PARTICIPATE WITHOUT SUBMITTING A DIGITAL WORK?
